Why did I choose this program? I chose LA General because of its diverse patient population and the incredible culture within the program. I know residency will be challenging no matter where you train, but I wanted to care for a community I'm truly passionate about serving; a community that reminds me of my own family. Just as important, I wanted to be part of a program where residents genuinely support one another, make even the toughest days at the hospital enjoyable, and have the opportunity to learn from exceptional faculty who are invested in our growth.

Why did you choose our program? During my sub-internship I saw firsthand that the people and culture are what make this program special. Caring for such an underserved patient population confirmed that this is exactly where I want to train.
Plans after residency? Unsure at the moment but I am open to anything.

Hobbies: You'll usually find me searching for my next favorite restaurant or dessert spot around LA (follow my food Instagram, @theroundingfork). To balance out all the eating, I love hiking and trying new workout classes. I'm also always planning my next adventure and when I travel, my goal is to hit at least 20,000 steps a day while exploring new places!
Fun Fact: I've visited 5 of the 7 Wonders of the World: the Great Wall of China, Chichén Itzá, Christ the Redeemer, the Colosseum, and the Taj Mahal. Next on my bucket list: Petra and Machu Picchu!
Favorite LA restaurant or favorite place to go in LA: I recently tried Courage Bagels, and they completely changed my life. Hot take: they might even be better than New York bagels! For dessert, the warm chocolate chip walnut cookies from Lazy Acres are an absolute must-try.
Why did you choose our program?: During my sub-I, I knew this program felt like home. The residents and faculty created such a welcoming, supportive environment that allowed me to learn, grow, and thrive. I was inspired not only by the teaching during rounds and lectures, but also by the program's genuine commitment to serving the diverse communities of Los Angeles. Advocacy and community engagement aren't just statements here but embedded into the pediatric curriculum. I knew at USC/ LAGMC I would receive comprehensive training that goes beyond medicine and would prepare me to care for children and their communities.
Plans after residency: I'm keeping an open mind! I'm excited to explore different areas of pediatrics and may pursue a fellowship!

Why did you choose our program? Everyone I talked to, from faculty to residents, clearly valued working with underserved patients and spending extra time making sure these patients got the care they needed. It was evident this program teaches us how to advocate for the most vulnerable of populations and genuinely cares about the community it serves.

Why this program: I really enjoyed my time here during my sub-I. The residents and faculty were incredibly welcoming and genuinely invested in my learning. I loved the supportive culture and the strong sense of camaraderie within the program. I also really value the opportunity to give back to and serve the diverse community that LAGMC cares for.
Plans after residency: I'm currently leaning towards doing outpatient, but I will be keeping an open mind and look forward to seeing where my experiences during residency take me!

Why did you choose our program? The second look day after interviews really sealed the deal for me. I loved the location and warmth of the PDs and residents that day and felt like this is really where I wanted to be and grow my community. It was clear the residents have an indescribable amount of passion for their patients.

Why did you choose our program?
So many reasons! First, it's USC! How could I not? More importantly, after my interview day, I knew it was everything I was looking for in a residency program. I was struck by the genuinely happy and welcoming residents, the supportive culture, and the opportunity to care for an underserved patient population where I knew I could make a meaningful impact.
Plans after residency:
I'm currently planning to pursue primary care, but I'm keeping an open mind—the sky's the limit! I'm also interested in the possibility of fellowship, particularly in Gastroenterology, Allergy & Immunology, or Adolescent Medicine.

Why LAGMC/USC: I was excited to train in a place that cares for such a diverse and underserved community. I also really connected with the program’s focus on advocacy and community health. Most of all, the residents were genuinely supportive, down-to-earth, and excited to work together, and I knew this was the kind of community I wanted to be part of.

Why did you choose our program? I knew I wanted to come to this program because of its commitment to serving underserved communities and its diverse patient population. Throughout medical school, I was involved in a mission-based program and community outreach initiatives that deepened my passion for health equity, and I knew I wanted to train at a program that shared those same values. Through my interactions with the residents and faculty, it was also clear how genuine and supportive everyone is, and I knew it would be a positive environment where I could learn and grow.
