Pediatric Burn Critical Care Collaborative (PBC³)

The future of pediatric burn care starts here.

Across the world, burned children are treated in pockets —ex. county hospitals, trauma centers—operating in silos. No unified network. No shared language. No collective voice. That changes now.

We are THE PEDIATRIC BURN CRITICAL CARE COLLABORATIVE — PBC³.

We exist to define the science, the practice, and the future of pediatric burn critical care.

OUR PURPOSE

To connect the people and places that treat burned children — to build a community of heroes who share data, establish best practices, publish science, and build the evidence that defines excellent care.

We’re here to:
• Develop national/international pediatric burn resuscitation guidelines.
• Create a multicenter data network that drives outcomes, not anecdotes.
• Share protocols, checklists, and QI initiatives.
• Mentor and connect clinicians across disciplines.

WHY NOW

Pediatric Burn shock is one of the last great physiological frontiers. Massive inflammation. Fluid shifts. Infection. Nutrition. Pain.

And yet, while ARDS and sepsis have global networks — pediatric burn critical care does not.

PBC³ exists to change that. To make pediatric burn care a recognized field — precise, data-driven, and human. Driven by pediatric critical care physicians who understand pediatric physiology to the highest degree.

OUR VISION

A connected world where every child with burns no matter where they are receives evidence-based, humane, and expert critical care.

Through collaboration, we will:

  • Define the physiology of modern pediatric burn resuscitation.

  • Standardize assessment, management, and outcomes.

  • Evolve pediatric burn care to improve outcomes of burned children.

  • Educate the next generation
